The word FUTON is a Japanese word originally referring to any round mat our cushion filled with leaves. The traditional Japanese Futon is a group of three products making up a bed. The three products consist of a futon, which is a thin cotton pad, a shikibuton (shiki-futon) which is a three folding pad that sits under the thin cotton pad, and a kake-futon which is a comforter that goes on top of the thin cotton pad. 

For centuries, the people of Japan have had to make the best of the little space available. The average family had one room, which served all purposes-eating, sleeping, working, and living. Out of this grew the Japanese futons (comforter and sleeping mat). Now Little Japan USA brings this Japanese concept to the American public. The  kake-futon (comforter) is warm and light, because of a unique technique which uses trapped air as a natural insulation. The shiki-futon and foam mattress (sleeping mat) are portable and comfortable, and offers firm support for your back.
